Man caught shoplifting seven times in same month
Lawrenceburg Now
A Lawrenceburg man was arrested Monday after officials at a local business reported they had caught him shoplifting for the seventh time in a month.
Reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department show that officers were dispatched to Walmart on North Locust Avenue where they spoke with store security personnel. They said that they had caught fifty-five year old Tony Derward Allen Bradford, Sr., attempting to leave the store without paying for some $315.68 worth of merchandise.
They said that they had video surveillance that captured him shoplifting at the store six previous times during the month of December. They said that altogether the merchandise had a value of around $1,000.
Officers placed Bradford under arrest on theft of property charges and as they walked to the police car, they said his son called him on his cell phone. Bradford told them that his son and daughter-in-law were waiting for him in the parking lot.
Officers asked whether they knew “what was going on in the store” and he said that they did, “because some of what he was getting was for them.”
After placing Bradford in the police car the arresting officer drove to where the son was parked. He questioned the couple about their knowledge of the crime. As a result Tony Allen Bradford, Jr., 29, was arrested on theft charges for “knowingly bringing him to Walmart to steal merchandise.” The daughter-in-law, Christina Amzanna Bradford, age 36, was issued a citation for the same crime.
All three have been scheduled an initial appearance in General Sessions Court on January 6, 2017.
