Yard And Culvert Damaged Due To Incapacitated Vehicle
Residents of Prosser Road reported to law enforcement officials Tuesday that they had discovered damage to their property after finding an incapacitated vehicle there.
Lawrenceburg Police officers were called to the home after the victims found that the vehicle had apparently broken down and been abandoned there for some time.
The reporting officer noted that the rear tires were covered in mud “as if the driver had tried to move but was unable to do so, spinning tires in the grass.” He noted that the grass had been damaged during the incident and that, at that time, this was the only damage found.
A short time later the officer was contacted by the residents for a second time. They reported that the vehicle was gone, but that their driveway culvert had been damaged. The officer reports that it appeared the damage was sustained when the vehicle was either pulled or driven backward, across the culvert, and then driven or pulled away.
Cost to replace the damaged culvert was estimated to be $600. Investigation into the incident is on-going at the present time.
