Hole Cut Through Pharmacy Roof During Burglary Attempt
Authorities report that burglars who targeted a local pharmacy last week cut a hole through the roof in order to gain access.
Nothing was reported missing as a result of the incident that occurred at Holland’s Pharmacy, 11 Public Square, on Christmas Eve.
Reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department show that those responsible used a saw or knife to cut a hole through the roof above a storage area. A ladder that is left on the floor of the storage room had been positioned beneath the hole.
Employees reported that a security alarm had been triggered some point. They said that they had reviewed security surveillance video from inside the store, but that they did not observe anyone inside the building before, during, or after the alarm call.
Officers said it appeared that, while those responsible did gain access to the storage area, they did not make entry to the store itself.
Damages to the roof were said to be approximately $300. Investigation in the matter is currently on-going. Anyone who has information pertinent to the investigation is encouraged to contact the police departments at 931-762-2276.
