Equipment stolen from Lawrenceburg business
Lawrenceburg Now
A local business owner reported thousands of dollars in loss last week after discovering that the business had been targeted by thieves.
According to reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department officers were called to investigate at Inman Excavating, located at the Short Avenue/Third Street intersection. They found that the perpetrator had removed screws from a piece of tin on the west side of the building in order to gain access.
Owners reported that several items had been stolen including a Lincoln brand MIG welder, large checker plate aluminum toolbox, commercial grade battery charger, and a cutting torch set that included tanks, helmet, hood, striker, tips and a wheeled stand. Altogether, loss was estimated to be $4,200.
Officers were able to recover a piece of a tail light lens believed to be from the offender’s vehicle.
The matter currently remains under investigation through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
