Vandals Paint Racial Slur On Driveway

    A West Point resident filed a complaint with law enforcement officers last week after discovering that a racial slur had been painted on his driveway.

    The victim reported to deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department that he was uncertain whether the vandalism had been connected to an earlier incident.

He said that his mailbox had been destroyed in early November. The victim said that he had arrived home to find that someone had pulled about fifteen feet off of the roadway, into his driveway, in order to commit the crime.

    On Tuesday, the victim said he discovered that someone had painted the racial slur at the end of his driveway in white spray paint.

    The victim told deputies that he had moved into the residence in June. He said that after finding the second vandalism, he felt that he should make authorities aware of the situation. Investigation into the matter is on-going.
