Cars broken into while owners at church
Lawrenceburg Now
Lawrenceburg Police officers were called upon to investigate Wednesday when members of a Lawrenceburg church discovered that someone had broken into their vehicles while they attended services.
Officers responded to Meadowview Baptist Church on Kennedy Street where one of the victims reported that she had returned to her vehicle to find that her passenger side window had been busted. She had left her purse inside of her vehicle, and the person responsible had stolen it, as well. The purse contained various personal items along with her bankcard, gift cards, and $80 cash. Her loss and damages were estimated to total $645.
A second woman reported that her car window had been busted and her purse containing her wallet and $200 cash was missing. In addition, she said that checks totaling $300 were stolen out of a compartment, resulting in $1,050 in loss and damages.
Both cases currently remain under investigation through the department's Criminal Investigation Division. Anyone with knowledge of the crimes should contact the department at 931-762-2276.
