Officers Issue Citations For Allowing Dogs To Roam
Law enforcement officials are cracking down on pet owners who do not keep their dogs properly contained, allowing them to cause damages or harm another pet.
Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department issued citations to a May Street resident last week when it was found that her dogs were roaming about and had attacked a neighbor’s dog. Tabitha Renee Nelson was given citations for two counts of allowing dogs to run at large. Reports indicate that a vandalism charge was also recorded.
A neighbor summoned officers to his home to report that Nelson’s two dogs had been roaming freely, came onto his property, and attacked his dog while it was secured with a chain in his back yard. He reported that his dog had sustained minor injury as a result of the incident.
The citations require that Nelson appear in court on Friday, December 19.
