Neighboring County Charges Local With Sex Crimes

   A local woman was arrested on sex charges last week by authorities in neighboring Giles County.

   Officials with the Giles County Sheriff's Department report that Stephanie Kaye Stanton, age 22, of Loretto, was taken into custody Thursday. Stanton is charged with three counts of statutory rape and two counts of engaging a minor in sexual/simulated sex acts.

   Stanton was incarcerated at the Giles County Jail under a bond of $30,500. She was scheduled an initial court appearance on December 15, 2014.
