Neighbor snatches wallet and flees
Lawrenceburg Now
During the weekend a woman reported that, while visiting a relative, a nearby resident snatched her wallet and fled.
The victim, age twenty-nine, spoke with officers from the Lawrenceburg Police Department at around 3:00 p.m. Saturday. She said she had been visiting her sister on Thomas Street when the incident occurred.
Reports show that the victim was loading her child into her vehicle when she saw the thirty-eight year old male neighbor enter through her sister’s back door. She told officers that the man sntached her Coach wallet, then fled on foot. She said the wallet contained various cards, her driver’s license, her Samsung J3 phone, and $125 cash. Loss was estimated at just over $600.
When officers spoke with the victim’s sister, she said she had seen the neighbor enter her home, then flee through the back door without saying anything. She said that he is a regular visitor to her home and that she did not wish to pursue burglary charges against him.
At the time reports were filed the case remained under investigation.
