Officials Hope To Name New Chamber Director By March 1

   Local officials are hopeful that a new Chamber of Commerce Director will be in place by the time March 1st rolls around.

   Current Director Daniel Webb has accepted a position in the private sector of industrial recruitment, a job that he will begin at the beginning of January.

   During a meeting of theCounty Commission's Economic and Community Development Committee Monday evening, Webb explained that members of the Chamber’s Executive Committee are scheduled to meet this week to decide whether to hire a headhunting firm to assist in the selection. He told members that they expect to have someone in place by March 1st.

   Webb said that during the interim he will be available for consultation, should his assistance be needed.
