Tuesday Crime Report
Lawrenceburg Now
Vandalism
Police officers were dispatched to a Roberts Avenue home Friday where the resident reported he had been away from home for around thirty minutes, returning to find a front window busted out. The doors remained locked and he said it appeared that no entry was made to the residence. Damages were estimated to total $140.
Theft
A seventy-three year old resident of Fair Avenue in Lawrenceburg reported to police officers Friday that around $1,500 worth of his belongings had been stolen from his home. He speculated that the items had been stolen by friends of a relative who lives in his basement and has access to his home. He said that a Fender guitar, forty pieces of pink Depression glass dishes, clocks, and a lamp globe embellished with autumn scenes were taken while he slept. He told officers that, if proven, he wishes to pursue prosecution against the persons responsible.
Fraud
A Lawrenceburg man reported to police officers on Sunday that someone had fraudulently spent $309 of the $328.75 he had on a Walmart gift card at a Walmart store in Las Vegas, Nevada. He had learned that the card information had been used for two separate purchases.
Theft
Tools were reportedly stolen from a home on South Locust Avenue that is currently undergoing remodeling. The victim reported that he had left the home at around 8:30 the previous evening, but that he had failed to lock the door. Altogether, he estimated his loss to be in excess of $500. Later that day he spoke with officers to report that he had located part of his property. He said he found the items in a wooded area across the street, concealed in five gallon buckets and covered with black plastic. He was able to recover several items that he had not even realized had been stolen.
