Loretto High School Band performs in Nashville Christmas Parade
The 63rd Annual Nashville Christmas Parade presented by Piedmont Natural Gas and Tootsies benefiting the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt was held Saturday, December 3, 2016.
The parade traveled down Broadway, the “Musical Mile” flanked by hundreds of thousands of spectators. This was a celebration of the holidays and Country music from the Music City. “This was a wonderful experience for the band members and our cheerleaders.” said band director Darrell Boston.
Grammy Award winning artist Kelly Clarkson served as Grand Marshal for the 63rd annual Nashville Christmas Parade which featured many entries including floats, balloons, marching bands and, of course, Santa Claus.
The Loretto Band, along with the cheerleaders, was one of several bands that performed at the parade. Band director Darrell Boston, stated, “I am so proud of these kids. They worked so hard preparing for this parade. I am also so thrilled we had our cheerleaders with us. They really added to the overall effect with their lighted snowflakes. I also want to send a huge thank you to their coach Christy Wilson for her help and support. There are so many people to thank for their time and donations making this trip possible, and words just do not seem to be enough. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to all who made this possible for the kids.”
The parade was broadcast live by WKRN-TV Channel 2.
In addition to WKRN-TV live coverage, Nashville Christmas Parade is going national this year. Timeless Syndication will make the parade available for broadcast on TV stations and other outlets across the country for airing December 10 through the end of January, 2017.
