Clothes stolen out of laundromat dryer
Lawrenceburg Now
Law enforcement officials were asked to open an investigation late last week when the owner of a Lawrenceburg laundromat reported that a customer’s clothes had been stolen along with some laundromat equipment.
Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department responded to the call Friday to Wishy Washy, located at 103 Hicks Street. According to reports, a customer had complained that he had left his clothes in the dryer, then returned to find that someone had taken all of them.
A review of the business’ security video showed that a man had entered the business at around 2:00 a.m. and dug through trash cans. He reportedly stayed inside for a long period of time, then used two small trash cans and a metal buggy belonging to the business to load up the clothes, leaving with them. The value of the clothing was not noted in the report however loss to the business was around $135.
The suspect is described as an older white male wearing a black ball cap and a blue Nike brand jacket. At the present time the case remains under investigation. Anyone who has information regarding the crime should contact the police department at 931-762-2276.
