Intoxicated Neighbor Forces Her Way Into Thanksgiving Gathering
Lawrenceburg Police officers responded to a Palmer Street home around 6:30 Saturday evening after a resident reported that her intoxicated neighbor had forced her way inside her home and assaulted her.
Jeannie Ellen Bivens, age 48, of 407 Palmer Street was arrested on charges of aggravated burglary, public intoxication, and assault.
The reporting officer indicates that when he arrived at the home Bivens, “Came staggering over to my patrol car in an aggressive manner.”
The officer warned Bivens to calm down then attempted to discern what had occurred. He said she admitted that she had been consuming alcohol and said that she had been “trying to have Thanksgiving dinner with friends.”
Those present reported that Bivens had been at the home earlier, but that she had been asked to leave after she become intoxicated and belligerent.
Witnesses said that Bivens left for some time, then returned. They said that while one person attempted to hold her back, she forced her way through the front door. They said that she was “very angry and started swinging.” Bivens reportedly struck the female resident in the face with her fist during the incident. Some of those present were then able to push her back outside.
Bivens is scheduled to answer the charges against her in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on February 5, 2015.
