Incident Of Fraud Under Investigation

Lawrenceburg Now

A Groh Street resident reported to authorities last week that someone had obtained a new iPhone 6 on her cellular account without her knowledge.

The victim, age 44, filed a complaint through the Lawrenceburg Police Department on Wednesday. She said that her AT&T bill had listed a purchase made via internet for the phone, charged to her account.

She spoke with company representatives who told her the phone had been shipped to an address in Oakridge, Tennessee. The victim contacted FedEx and requested that the delivery be halted and the item returned to AT&T.

Investigation in the case is currently on-going.
