Monday Crime Report
Theft
A resident of Jackson Street reported to police officers Saturday that his wallet had been stolen out of his truck. He told officers that he had last seen the wallet at around 6:00 p.m. when he stopped at Dollar General Store on North Military Avenue. He said that he visited a relative and when he returned to his home at around 10:00 p.m., he realized that the wallet was missing. He told officers that he has recently had trouble with the locks and that he was uncertain whether it was locked at the time of the theft. Loss was reported to be $210.
Theft
Police officers investigated the theft of a hunting rifle from his vehicle while it was parked on Sixth Street in Lawrenceburg. Stolen was a Browning .270 rifle with a Nikon scope and twelve rounds of ammunition. Loss was estimated at $1,475. The victim, age 25, said that he had left the vehicle unlocked, with the rifle lying on the front passenger seat.
Theft of vehicle
Officers were called to a home on First Street in Lawrenceburg last week where a man reported that his 2003 GMC Yukon, valued at $5,000, had been stolen from his driveway. He told officers that he had left the truck unsecured and that the keys had been stored in the console.
Vandalism
Damages were reported at a North Locust Avenue business last week. The manager at Chevron Car Wash reported to police officers that the driver of a black Chevrolet truck had caused approximately $3,000 worth of damage, then left the premises without reporting the damage.
Incident
A clerk at 43 Quick Stop on Prosser Road filed a complaint with officers, indicating that the driver of a semi truck had hit the awning of the business, causing considerable damage.
