Armed Robber Makes Off With Drugs From Pharmacy

Authorities seek information

Law enforcement officials are seeking public assistance in an attempt to identify an armed robber who entered a Lawrenceburg pharmacy Monday evening, making off with a number of pills.

The pharmacist at Holland’s Pharmacy summoned Lawrenceburg Police officers to the 11 Public Square location at around 6:30 p.m. He said that a man had entered through the south entrance with a stocking-type mask covering his face, and asked, “How’s it going?”

The pharmacist said that as the robber approached he saw that he was holding a semi-automatic handgun. He said the man walked behind the counter and demanded that he give him Percocet pills.

The pharmacist reported that he walked to the counter and picked up a bottle of hydrocodone pills. At that point, he said the robber tossed a black bag at him and told him to put the bottle inside. He did as told, adding two additional bottles of the drug before handing the bag back to him.

According to reports, as the pharmacist attempted to walk past the man to retrieve Percocet pills from the safe, the man struck him in the chest with the gun and ordered him to, “Get back.” He told officers that he complied.

Reports indicate that as the robber turned to leave he struck a picture frame with the gun, causing it to fall off of a shelf and break. He then fled out of the same door through which he had entered.  He reportedly ran east along Pulaski Street.

Although officers conducted a search of the area, they were unable to locate the suspect. They are now requesting that anyone with information regarding the incident, contact the department at 931-762-2276.

The robber is described as a white male standing between 6’2” and 6’4”, and weighing approximately 180 pounds. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a camouflage jacket and pants, a dark hat, gloves, and the mask.

The robber made off with 1,000 hydrocodone pills of varying dosages. Loss and damages were estimated to total $230.
