Basket Of Clothing Stolen From Vehicle
Authorities are investigating an incident during which a woman said a basket full of her clothing had been stolen out of a vehicle.
The victim, age 23, reported the crime to deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department last week. She indicated that she had been having car trouble and had met a man at the ball field in Summertown to see whether he could fix it.
The victim told deputies that she took a laundry basket full of her clothes out of her car and placed it in the man’s Jeep while they drove around to assess the car’s problems. She said they returned and noticed that the hatch on the Jeep had been left open.
In her absence, she said someone had entered the vehicle and took her clothing. Also stolen was her makeup bag full of makeup.
The victim reported that she had checked with individuals who resided nearby and was told that two women in a red car were seen around the vehicle.
Altogether, the victim estimated her loss to total $835. Investigation in the matter is on-going
