Warrants issued against resident wielding pipe
Lawrenceburg Now
Local law enforcement officers obtained warrants against a Lawrenceburg man last week after he allegedly assaulted another man with a metal pipe while intoxicated.
The fifty-three year old victim reported to Lawrenceburg Police officers that the incident had occurred at his Brock Street home. He said that Zachary Lee Smith, 33, of Paige Drive had come to his home the previous evening while highly intoxicated. He told officers that they became engaged in an argument and that Smith found a metal pipe and began swinging it at him while they were inside his residence. The victim was struck on the top of his head and on one knee.
The victim told officers that he was eventually able to move Smith outside and that Smith then used the pipe to break the rear window out of his 1999 Nissan Maxima, inflicting damages of around $300.
Warrants were obtained, charging Smith with the crimes of aggravated assault and vandalism.
