Weekend Race Results Thunderhill
Submitted by Doris Cherry
The last race of the season was a very colorful event, as we hosted the SpOOktacular/Christmas for Kids Race in memory of Steve Yocom #22.
Our SpOOktacular Race on Halloween night was rained out, so we decided to combine them. Special thanks to all the drivers who brought candy and particapated in the trick or treat … the kids had a blast. Then, … who shows up?? Santa Claus to give out candy canes to all the kids. With all the candy and Christmas lights it was a wonderful site to see all the smiles and everyone enjoying the fun at Thunderhill.
Christmas For Kids … Thanks to everyone who brought toys, canned goods and made donations. Numerous families will be helped during this season from your generosity. If you would like to make a donation, they can be dropped off for the next two weeks at Spurgeon’s Radatior Shop, 28 Dunn Leoma Rd., Leoma, TN 931-852-2705 or Cherry Photography, 9182 Lawrenceburg Hwy., Mt. Pleasant, TN (Summertown next to Shell Station) 931-964-3008.
Steve Yocom's daughter, Megan and grandson, Ashton threw the green flag to start the first feature event, which was for the Modified Street class that Steve drove the #22 car in. Steve may be gone but he is NOT forgotten!

09. # 40 Kevin Pack
Allen Carter led green to checkered for the win in a six minute race that only drew one caution. It came on lap eleven when Brent Steele stalled in turn four.
E-Mod:
01. #07 Brian Vandygriff Heat #1 winner …. Mt. Pleasant, TN
02. #C97 Tommy Carroll
03. #92 Blazz Trull Heat #2 winner

Not exactly sure what happen to this bunch … but it all broke loose. The first restart came after Ethan Tanner spun on the front stretch, then on the second restart Brian Vandygriff and Blazz Trull were running a tight line coming out of turn four that resulted in Trull scrapping the wall and then everyone checked up and piled in on each other. This wreck collected five cars; put four out for the night. The only other caution was on lap three for the spin of Ricky Cothran. Vandygriff led the full twenty laps for the win.

DNS: #3 Cody Qualls
This race had a restart after Oakley Johns jumped the start and had to roll back one position, and then saw six cautions … what a race!! Todd Clemmons led from the drop of the green thru lap ten, then coming out of turn four, got a little too high and into the loose stuff. It turned his frontend down the track into the path of Gentry, who had NO where to go; unfortunately it turned Clemmons around and into the wall, ending his night. What a show these two were putting on when this occurred!! At this point, Gentry took over the lead and held on thru lap forty for the win and to pick up the $2,022 check.

15. #111 Paul Teachout
This class may be smaller in car size but was BIG on racing action. Craig Pedrick led from the drop of the green thru lap eleven, but it would be John Duncan taking laps twelve thru fifteen for his FIRST feature win. What a show these guys put on!! As Duncan was taking the checkered and RED … we had a crash at the end of the front stretch, as Kevin Staggs was off the pace and getting ready to exist the track, Bobby Hickman apparently didn’t realize this and slammed into the rear of Staggs car with considerable force, to the point they were jammed so tightly together it took quite some time to get them apart. Thankfully, Staggs was not injured; but not the same could be said for his car.
