Theft From Lawrenceburg Business Is Under Investigation

Lawrenceburg Police officers initiated an investigation Saturday after an individual reported that a piece of equipment had been stolen from a local business.

An employee of Deals on Wheels, located at 2144 North Locust Avenue, summoned officers to the business at around 11:45 a.m. She reported that a man had come to the business, requesting to borrow a tool to jump off his truck. He told her that his truck was across the highway at Employee Resources Credit Union, and would not start.

The employee said that she believed she had sold the truck to the man, so she allowed him to borrow a jump box, valued at $150. She said she watched the man head back to his truck. Once he got his truck started, she said he left without returning the jump box.

The employee looked up the sales history for the truck and provided officers with a possible identity of the suspect. Investigation in the matter is presently on-going through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
