Nashville man arrested for public intoxication can’t remember how he got to Lawrenceburg
Lawrenceburg Now
A Nashville man who was arrested during the weekend told law enforcement officers that he could not remember how he got to Lawrenceburg.
Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department responded to a Gimlet Road home just after 5:00 a.m. Saturday after a resident reported that a stranger was banging on her door and ringing her doorbell. When they arrived, she told them that the man had already left.
Officers conducted a search of the immediate area and found a man matching the description they were given walking along the roadway. He told officers that “he was lost and was trying to get back home to Nashville.”
The man told officers that he had no idea how he had ended up in Lawrenceburg. He said that he had been at the Tin Roof in Nashville and at around midnight had called for an Uber driver to take him home. He could remember nothing more.
Officers report that the man, identified as twenty-two year old Jeffrey Michael Robben of 105 Minnette Court, Nashville exhibited signs of being intoxicated. He admitted that he had drunk fifteen or sixteen beers and “some shots” just prior to leaving.
Robben was transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center where he was booked under a charge of public intoxication. Bond was set at $1,000. He is scheduled to answer the charge in General Sessions Court on December 1, 2016.
