Man Threatened With Chainsaw During Assault
Lawrenceburg Now
Law enforcement officials were asked to sort out the details after a man sought medical attention last week for injuries he sustained while fighting with his neighbor.
Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department were summoned to a local physician’s office to speak with a victim. They report that he had just received stitches to his forehead and had also sustained a bloody, black eye.
The sixty-five year old man told officers that he had sustained the injuries when he went to a neighbor’s house to confront him about cursing at his wife. He said that they “had words” after which his neighbor struck him multiple times, causing his injuries.
When officers went to the sixty-four year old neighbor’s house, he told them a different story. He said that the man had come to his home carrying a chainsaw that belonged to him. He said that the man charged at him, threw the chainsaw, then began yelling and waving his hands about. He said it led him to believe that the man was going to assault him, and that he defended himself.
The officer was unable to determine the primary aggressor in the conflict. The victim, however, told them that he intends to prosecute.
