Tools stolen from truck in parking lot of Lawrenceburg business

Law enforcement officials are hoping to identify an individual who stole tools out of a truck while it was in the parking lot of a Lawrenceburg business.

On Tuesday, officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department responded to Walmart on North Locust Avenue. An Ethridge resident reported that someone had stolen items out of the toolbox on his 2000 Chevrolet Silverado, causing an approximate $145 loss.

The victim told officers that Loss Prevention officers at Walmart were able to pull up security video that captured the crime. It showed that a person driving a small truck had pulled up to the victim’s truck. A man exited, opened the victim’s toolbox, and took a red Huskey bag containing a 4 ½ inch Makita grinder, two diamond blades, and twelve miscellaneous blades. The man then got back into his vehicle and left the premises.

The suspect’s vehicle was described as a small silver truck with ladders and possibly a toolbox on the back. Anyone who has information regarding the crime should contact the department at 931-762-2276.
