Woman hit in parking lot escapes injury

Lawrenceburg Now

A local woman escaped injury last week when she was struck by a vehicle while walking across a parking lot.

Lawrenceburg Police Department reports show that an officer was dispatched to Lawrenceburg Utility Systems on North Locust Avenue at around 11:30 Thursday after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle. The driver, age fifty, explained that he had been backing out of a parking space when he struck the victim and knocked her to the ground.

The victim, age eighty-eight, told officers that she had sustained no injuries as a result of the incident, however since Emergency Medical Service personnel were en route, they had them evaluate her condition. They found that her blood pressure was high and transported her to Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems as a precautionary measure.

Since there were no injuries or property damage resulting from the incident, and both persons involved did not wish to file an official report, no charges were issued in the case.
