Lawrenceburg council meeting to be held Thursday morning

Members of the board that governs the City of Lawrenceburg will meet in regular session Thursday morning to consider approval of a number of items of business.

Council members are scheduled to consider an ordinance for a zoning change on second and final reading. Another ordinance, also being considered for second and final reading, would amend the city’s 2016-2017 fiscal year budget.

One of the resolutions that appears on the agenda is to “request additional grant funding from the Tennessee Department of Transportation Downtown Revitalization Project in the amount of $179,950 for ADA compliance.”

A resolution up for consideration would reappoint Gary Hyde as the city’s representative on the Regional Solid Waste Planning Board. Another would designate various items of property in the Sanitation Department as surplus, to be sold at action on the internet.

The final item on the agenda is a resolution regarding the purchase of a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 crew cab truck for use by the Lawrenceburg Parks and Recreation Department.

The meeting, which is open to the public, is slated to begin at 8:30 a.m. in the council meeting room of the Lawrenceburg Municipal Complex, located at 25 Public Square.
