Tuesday Crime Report
Lawrenceburg Now
Vandalism
On Sunday police officers were called to an Oak Street home where a resident reported more than $2,000 damage had been done to her 2015 Ford Focus. Reports indicate that someone had used an unknown object to scratch the paint along one side.
Vandalism
A Lexington, Alabama man spoke with officers on Saturday after his 2011 Ford F150 was vandalized outside of a Lawrenceburg business. The forty-eight year old victim said he had been shopping at White’s Department Store on Crews Street at around 9:30 a.m. When he returned to his truck he discovered that someone had scratched the paint on the passenger side. Also, dents were found on the driver’s door and hood. Damages were said to be in excess of $1,000.
Theft
Considerable damage was done when someone broke into a Pepsi vending machine outside of Save-A-Lot on North Locust Avenue during the weekend. Store officials reported that a padlock had been cut off and the screw-type door lock had been drilled out. The bill collector and change holder had both been removed, however it appeared that no drinks had been stolen. Officers recovered drill bit packages from the ground along with parts of the pad lock and screw lock. They estimated that $25 worth of change was stolen. They were unable to determine at that time the dollar amount of damage to the machine.
Recovered property
A 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe that had been reported as stolen October 20 was found at an apartment building last week. Police officers received word that the vehicle was parked outside of some apartments on Hannon Drive. Investigators were subsequently called to the scene to take over the investigation.
