Officer Notices Bag Of Pills During Traffic Stop
Lawrenceburg Now
While conducting a traffic stop Monday a police officer noticed a bag of pills partially concealed inside the motorist’s car.
A Lawrenceburg Police officer on patrol reports that he was stopped at the West Gaines Street/Buffalo Road intersection when he witnessed a violation of the traffic signal. He subsequently stopped twenty-year-old Nathan Tyler Chartrand of 405 Oak Street, Lawrenceburg.
When he walked up to the vehicle, the officer reports that he noticed that plastic trim on the dashboard had been pulled loose and a pink baggy containing pills was partially concealed inside.
Chartrand denied ownership or any knowledge of the pills. He told the officer that he had borrowed the vehicle and did not know to whom the pills belonged.
Chartrand was unable to produce a valid driver’s license and was taken into police custody. He was transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center where he was booked under charges of driving on a revoked license and possession of Schedule II narcotics.
Chartrand will be required to answer the charges in General Sessions Court on December 3, 2015.
