Thursday Crime Report
Theft
A resident of Fourth Street in Lawrenceburg reported to police officers that someone had stolen a 2016 Polaris RZTR 900 from his property. He said that he had noticed his dog barking during the previous night but had thought little of it. The ATV had a value of $17,220.
Shoplifting
The manager at Fast Stop Market on North Locust Avenue reported to authorities that two women had come into the store, and that one of them had stolen several pieces of beef jerky and candy. She estimated loss at $25.81.
Theft
A police report was filed in regards to the theft of a wallet from the parking lot of a business on North Locust Avenue. The victim told officers that shortly afterwards, someone fraudulently used her bank card at a Texaco station, also on North Locust Avenue. Loss was said to be $331.
Shoplifting
Officers investigated an instance of shoplifting at Taz Mart on West Gaines Street. Employees reported that a man had left the store with a twenty-four pack of beer without paying for it, causing a loss of $20. The man got into a white Dodge truck and left through a rear entrance to the parking lot. Officers searched the immediate area but were unable to locate the suspect.
Aggravated burglary
A resident of Austin Circle reported to police officers that someone had stolen three $100 bills out of a money box that he stored in a cabinet in an upstairs bedroom. Another $100 in cash was stolen from a snack bar in the kitchen. Neighbors reported seeing a man prowling about near the residence.
Burglary
An employee of Pizza Hut on North Locust Avenue in Lawrenceburg filed a complaint with police officers, indicating that someone had entered her unlocked 2003 Honda in the parking lot while she was working and stole her purse. Loss was estimated at $90.
Theft
Police officers responded to a Crowson Road home where the resident reported that, while she was away from home, someone stole a police-themed Power Wheels from her back yard. It was valued at $400.
Vandalism
Nearly $1,000 worth of damage was done when someone threw large rocks at two vehicles outside of an East Heights home. The owner reported body damage on a 2004 Chevrolet Impala and broken windows on a 2007 Honda Civic. The incident occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m.
Vandalism
Police reports show that a Jackie Drive resident reported that someone had run over his mailbox while he and his wife were sleeping the previous night, resulting in damages of around $25.
Theft
Officers investigated a complaint filed by a Summertown woman who reported that while she was babysitting for two friends, she had left her wallet inside their vehicle. She later discovered that it had been stolen. She said the wallet contained her ID, $53 in cash and a $15 gift card for a total loss of $168.
Theft
A yellow and black Champion 3500 generator was stolen from the property of a Second Avenue resident, resulting in a $379.98 loss.
Vandalism
Officers responded to Walmart where a Red Box employee reported damage to a kiosk. He said that someone had busted the computerized movie selection screen, rendering the machine inoperable. He estimated damages at $700.
