Employees startled when windows are shot, shatter

Lawrenceburg Now

Employees of a Lawrenceburg business were startled when some of the front windows suddenly shattered while they were inside Saturday night.

According to reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department officers responded to Rite Aid on North Locust Avenue just before 10:00 p.m. When they arrived, the manager reported that they had heard two “loud pops” and then noticed that the glass in one of the sliding front entry doors and an upper window had shattered.

Officers noted that the windows appeared to have been shot with some sort of pellet-type gun. They said the shots could have been fired from a parking lot across the street or from a passing vehicle. Damages were estimated to exceed $1,000.

At the time reports were filed the matter remained under investigation through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
