Resident reports being assaulted while feeding his dog

Lawrenceburg Now

A Lawrenceburg man filed a report with Lawrenceburg Police officers on Tuesday, indicating that he had been assaulted after stepping out to feed his dog.

The victim, a fifty-six year old resident of Cocke Street, told police officers that he had stepped outside to feed his dog at around 4:15 a.m. when he was suddenly “jumped by two men.”

The victim reported that one of his assailants struck him in the head with an unidentified object while “one got on top of him and threatened him with what he believed was a box cutter.” He said that after the assault, both men fled on foot.

Officers noted that the victim had sustained minor lacerations above both of his eyes but that he refused their offer of medical attention.

The victim was able to provide officers with the name of one suspect in the attack. They report that they attempted to make contact with the man that evening, but were unable to do so. The officers explained to the victim the process of obtaining a criminal summons in the matter.
