Summertown Lady Eagles 3rd in the State

The Lady Eagles volleyball finished third in the TSSAA State Volleyball Tournament this last week. Day 1 the Lady Eagles defeated Union City 25-10, 25-5, and 25-4 but then took their first loss to a tough Berean Christian 18-25, 16-25, 16-25.

The Lady Eagles then would have to work their way through the losers bracket on day 2.  The Lady Eagles beat Watertown 25-11, 15-25, 25-9, 16-25, 15-10 to advance to the final four teams in the tournament. The next match Summertown played fellow District 11 teammate the Loretto Mustangs.

The Lady Eagles defeated Loretto 25-21, 21-25, 25-16, 25-20. The Lady Eagles advanced to the semifinal match with South Greene.  The Lady Eagles lost in a close match that went down to the wire in the 5th game.  

Scores in South Greene match were 26-28, 25-16, 25-17, 22-25, 8-15. The Lady Eagles ended their season with a recod of 45-13 finished 3rd in the state. Congratulations to the Summertown Lady Eagles for an amazing season!
