Tuesday Crime Report
Lawrenceburg Now
Stolen vehicle
A 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix was reportedly stolen from a Randall Street home on Saturday. The owner reported that she and her husband had last seen the car around 8:00 that morning. She said they had heard their dog barking around noon “but didn’t think anything about it.” When they went outside around 6:00 p.m. the vehicle was missing. The victim said that she believed she had left the keys inside the car. Loss was said to be $1,000.
Vandalism
A Second Avenue resident filed a complaint with police officers on Friday, saying that he had gone outside to find that the passenger side glass on his 2001 Nissan Xterra had been shattered. He said it might have been damaged by a neighbor cutting the grass. Damages were said to be around $700.
Aggravated Burglary
Officers spoke with a resident of Lions Club Apartments on Geri Street Saturday. She reported that someone had tampered with her deadbolt lock and burglarized her apartment. She told officers that she had a gold necklace, three gold rings, and prescription medications valued at $1,383 missing. She said she had been away from home for around twelve hours. The reporting officer noted that he was unable to detect any damages or any obvious signs that the lock had been tampered with. He noted that video surveillance of the hallway is available.
Vandalism
The owner of a Laundromat on Hicks Street reported around $500 worth of damage thanks to an attempted theft from the business. He told police officers that he had video surveillance that showed an unknown man damaging his laundry detergent dispenser with pliers in an apparent attempt to steal the change inside. He told the officer he did not believe the man was successful in obtaining any of the money.
