Suspect posts picture wearing headphones purchased with someone else’s bank card

Security video and social media were key components that allowed law enforcement officers to identify a suspect in a fraud case last week.

According to reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department, the break came while detectives were investigating a complaint from a man who claimed that his bank card had been fraudulently used to purchase some $241.47 in merchandise at the local Walmart store.

A review of the security video from the time the fraudulent purchase was made led to the identification of a suspect in the case. Later that same day, reports show that detectives discovered that she had posted a picture of herself on her Facebook page, wearing a set of headphones that appeared to be the same ones purchased with the victim’s bank card.

Detectives report that they made several attempts to contact the suspect, identified as twenty-six year old Caprice Nicole Parson. Although they had intended to issue a citation in the case, they instead obtained a warrant charging her with one count of fraudulent use of a credit or debit card.
