Saturday Crime Report
Burglary
Police officers investigated the burglary of an outbuilding on Tipton Street Monday. The owner reported that the building had not been locked. Missing were some $2,100 worth of carpet tools.
Theft
A Summertown man reported to police officers Tuesday that someone had stolen a Champion brand electric generator from the bed of his truck while he was inside the Lawrence County Public Library. Loss was estimated to be $250.
Theft
Officers made their way to a Third Street home Tuesday where the resident reported that an acquaintance had stopped by his house to borrow a tent and sleeping bag. Once the person had left, he said he noticed that his iPhone 5s, valued at $227.72, was missing.
Vehicle burglary
A Claymar Drive resident reported a $410 loss Monday when she discovered that someone had stolen her wallet and class ring out of her car.
Vehicle vandalism
Officers responded to Legends Express on North Military Avenue where a seventy-seven year old customer reported that someone had vandalized his 2011 Ford F150. Officers said it appeared that someone had used a sharp object to scratch the paint on the left fender and both rear doors. Damages were said to total $750.
Theft
Officers were asked to investigate when an Old Florence Road resident discovered that someone had stolen the license plate off of her 2003 Oldsmobile Alero. Loss was $55.
Aggravated burglary
A resident of Johnson Street reported a loss of $6,103 to police officers after discovering a theft from her home. She said that her medications had been stolen from her lock box, which she kept concealed inside of an electronic slot machine in her home. Also missing were important documents and around $6,000 in cash. Neither officers nor the resident found any sign of forced entry.
