Vehicle damages result from roadway work

Lawrenceburg Now

A local motorist reported to authorities Monday that his vehicle had sustained a considerable amount of damage due to work that was being done on a Lawrenceburg street.

The victim, age 40, filed a complaint with officers of the Lawrenceburg Police Department. He stated that he had been traveling westbound on West Gaines Street at around 10:00 p.m. in a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban.

He said that when he crossed a bridge, his vehicle struck a gap that had been created when the surface of the asphalt had been ground down in preparation for re-paving.

The victim reported that his vehicle hit with such force as to cause damage to the steering and front end. He estimated that repairs would cost $500.
