Alabama man reports fraudulent use of his bank account info at a Lawrenceburg business

Local law enforcement authorities are investigating an incident reported by an Alabama resident in which his bank account information was used to make purchases at a Lawrenceburg business.

The victim, a seventy-eight year old resident of Rogersville, Alabama filed a complaint with the Lawrenceburg Police Department, indicating that he had experienced a loss of $927.

The victim told officers that he was still in possession of his debit card, but that his account information had been used to make purchases totaling $927 at the Lawrenceburg Walmart store. He said that the person responsible had attempted to make a purchase at the local Hibbet’s Sporting Goods and a second purchase at Walmart, but that those purchases were refused.

The victim reported that the crimes occurred in late September. The case remains under continued investigation.
