Maury County Fire Department responded to a tractor trailer on fire that was hauling hazardous materials.

 

According to the Maury County Fire Department on Monday around 12:00 a.m. units with Engine 10, Tanker 1, District Chief 1, and OEM responded to a tractor trailer on fire that was "full of a corrosive hazardous material."

The arriving units discovered that the driver had after noticing the fire immediately disconnected the trailer containing the hazardous material, and pulled away from the trailer which prevented from a "major environmental event."

Units reported that once they were on the scene that the tractor’s rear tires were fully engulfed as well as the rear sleeping quarters.

Firefighters were able to contain, and extinguish the fire as well as there being no injuries reported with the incident.
