Authorities investigate threats made via Facebook against local family

Lawrenceburg Now

Local law enforcement officials initiated an investigation late last week after a woman reported threats made on Facebook against her and her family.

The female victim, age thirty-two, spoke with Lawrenceburg Police officers Friday morning about the matter. She said that she had been receiving threatening messages on Facebook, as had her fifteen-year-old son. She said that the messages, made using a name with unknown personal information and no photos, alleged a relationship between the victim and “her man.”

The victim said the person responsible had made threats to “beat her up” and “run over her kids”.

The victim said she had previously received several messages from a cell phone, but that she had blocked the number.

At the present time the matter remains under investigation.
