Woman at courthouse garners drug charges
Lawrenceburg Now
A local woman was arrested at the Lawrence County Courthouse recently after she was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and prescription pills.
Reports filed through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department show that the woman, identified as twenty-eight year old Jericca Lyndsey Laws of 1032 Miller Road, Lawrenceburg, had come to the courthouse where a deputy was able to verify that there were outstanding warrants against her.
The deputy placed Laws under arrest. During the booking process, the officer reports that Laws voluntarily handed over a small baggie that contained 1.2 grams of a crystal substance identified as meth. She indicated that this was the only illegal substance in her possession. When her purse was searched, however, the deputy reports finding a pen that contained three green, oval pills identified as Alprazolam.
In addition to the outstanding warrant, Laws was booked under charges of illegal possession of a Schedule IV narcotic and possession of a Schedule II narcotic for the purpose of resale. Bond was set at $22,000.
Laws is scheduled to answer the charges against her in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on October 10, 2017.
