Mayor Jesse Turner announces $426,677 grant awarded for water system improvements in Loretto.

Loretto, Tennessee Mayor Jesse Turner released the following statement regarding grant:

"I am excited to announce that the City of Loretto has been awarded $426,677 for water system improvements from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds.

These funds will be used to construct a 100,000 gallon water tank in the unincorporated Liberty Grove Community to provide additional water storage capabilities for the City of Loretto, Tennessee as we continue to grow. This tank will also be beneficial to the water customers in the Liberty Grove Community as any time a water leak happens they experience descreased water pressure.

The grant will be matched with local funds totaling $150,000 provided by the City of Loretto and the Lawrence County Commission for a total project cost of $576,677. This shows the great working relationship the City and County shares as we strive to provide the best services to City and County residents.

Thank you to Gov. Bill Lee, State Senator Joey Hensley, State Representative Clay Doggett, County Executive TR Williams, County Commissioners Chris D. Jackson and Wayne Yocom, and Loretto Aldermen Steve McMasters, Chris Beckman, and Jeremy Busby. Many thanks also to the Governor’s staff, ECD staff, and City staff as well as Lorie and Morgan with the South Central Tennessee Development District."
