Pedestrian In Thursday Accident Succumbs To Injuries

On 09/17/15, the Lawrenceburg Police Department, Fire Department, and EMS were dispatched to an injury crash in the parking lot of Wal-Mart (2130 N. Locust Avenue) in Lawrenceburg, TN which involved a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Initial reports reveal that a vehicle (2010 GMC Sierra Pickup-Truck) driven by Hugh Porter Pilkinton (age 85), from Ethridge, TN, was exiting from a parking spot near the front entrance of Wal-Mart.

At the same time, the pedestrian, Clarence Gene Keeter age 75 from Lawrenceburg, TN, was exiting the main general merchandise doors at Wal-Mart and walking west in the pedestrian crossing area into the parking lot.

Pilkinton turned left in front of Wal-Mart and struck Keeter with the front of his vehicle. Keeter was soon transported to Vanderbilt hospital by Life-Flight Helicopter. Pilkinton did not sustain any injuries.

On 09/18/15, Keeter did succumb to the injuries sustained in the crash while in medical care at Vanderbilt Hospital. The crash is still under investigation by the Lawrenceburg Police Department’s Critical Accident Response Team (CART). At this time, No criminal charges have been filed.
