Vandalism, theft reported at downtown gazebo

Lawrenceburg Now

Lawrenceburg’s Mainstreet Director reported to police officials Saturday that someone had burglarized and vandalized the gazebo on the Public Square, resulting in around $400 worth of damage.

April Judkins filed a complaint with the Lawrenceburg Police Department just before noon. She told officers that someone had forced open a steel security door to the basement area, causing damage. No property was missing from the basement, however a speaker was reportedly stolen from the gazebo itself. In addition, Judkins reported damages to shrubbery and landscaping surrounding the gazebo.

Judkins told officers that the District Attorney’s office across the street maintains security surveillance of the area and they should be able to use that to further their investigation.
