Man reports being assaulted inside Lawrenceburg business

Law enforcement officials initiated an investigation during the weekend when a Lawrenceburg man reported that he had been assaulted while inside of a local business.

The victim, a twenty-two year old resident of Mahr Avenue, filed the complaint with members of the Lawrenceburg Police Department just after 8:30 p.m. Saturday. He said that while he had been shopping at Dollar General, 902 North Military Avenue, he had been approached by a white male.

The victim told officers that the man asked, “Where is my money,” then head-butted him in the nose. The victim complained of pain in the upper jaw and said that he believed the assault had loosened two of his teeth. He was tended to at the scene by members of the Emergency Medical Service, but refused transport to the hospital.

The victim was able to provide officers with the name of a suspect in the attack. In addition, the store manager said that the incident had been captured on security video, which would be made available to aid in the investigation.
