Palmer Street residents experience considerable loss in Thursday burglary

Residents of Palmer Street reported a considerable loss last week after their shed was burglarized and their belongings stolen.

One of the women told police officers that she had heard their dog barking a short time earlier and a woman’s voice instructing the dog to “be quiet.” She said that she had assumed that her roommate was in the back yard, but when she checked, she was not.

The women went to investigate and discovered that the outbuilding had been burglarized. They said that several items were missing including seventeen pieces of jewelry, fifteen pieces of Halloween Town decorations, and around seventy-five articles of clothing. They estimated that their loss totaled $4,900.

Investigation into the crime is on-going at the present time. Anyone who has information pertinent to the investigation is encouraged to contact the police department at 931-762-2276.
