Authorities investigate report of man peeping through child’s window
Lawrenceburg Now
Local law enforcement officers began an investigation on Sunday after a mother reported that a man had been peeping through her daughter’s bedroom window.
Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department answered the call to an apartment on Clearview Avenue just after 4:30 Sunday afternoon. The complainant explained that her daughter had been in her upstairs bedroom shortly before when she noticed a man dressed in camouflage standing outside of her window.
She said that he was perched on a porch roof, looking inside her bedroom. The daughter, age 12, went to her mother and told her about the man. She told officers that they returned to her daughter’s room and she, too, witnessed the man looking inside. She said that she and her daughter quickly exited the apartment and called for police.
The man had left by the time officers arrived on the scene. The reporting officer checked the window and reports that it had been damaged and that it appeared to have been forced open.
He reports that similar damage was found on several other windows on both the front and back of the lower level. He also noted that he could not determine whether the damage was sustained as a result of this particular incident.
The officer found no evidence that the man had gained entry to the apartment at that time, and when they reentered their home the residents reported that nothing appeared to be missing.
