Lawrenceburg man jailed in Florence for possessing counterfeit money

A Lawrenceburg man was arrested in Florence, Alabama after police officers were dispatched to investigate an instance of a reckless driving.

Reports indicate that deputies with the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department received a call of a man driving recklessly on Alabama 101, in the Lexington area. Before they arrived at the location, however, they were informed that the driver had crashed.

Lexington police officers who were investigating the crash reported finding two counterfeit $10 bills inside the car. They searched the driver and found that he was also in possession of several counterfeit $20 bills.

The driver, thirty-five year old Jason Corey Novem of 2904 South Mt. Ararat Road was arrested and transported to the Lauderdale County Detention Center. He was incarcerated on eight counts of first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument with bond set at $16,000.
