Lawrenceburg business is burglarized
Lawrenceburg Now
Burglars who attempted to enter a number of Lawrenceburg businesses overnight Monday were successful in gaining access to at least one location.
Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department were summoned to Lawrenceburg Donuts, located at 217 East Gaines Street, at 2:16 Tuesday morning. The owners reported that they had arrived at work to find that the business had been burglarized.
Reports show that the rear door of the business had been pried open. Once inside, the intruder took some money from beneath the front counter. One of the victims said that he conducted a search of the building and found that the back door was locked. He told officers that he did locate some of his belongings outside, at the rear of the business.
Officers report that they began to check surrounding businesses and found similar pry marks on the back doors of several. They said that it appeared that those entry attempts had been unsuccessful. They found a holster for a pesticide spray gun lying on the ground and subsequently checked Kirkland Pest Control, situated just to the west. They report that they found no evidence of a burglary there.
Loss was estimated to be $600. The case currently remains under investigation through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division. Anyone who has information about the crime is urged to contact the department at 931-762-2276.
