Manager finds counterfeit bill while preparing deposit

The manager of a Lawrenceburg restaurant turned over a counterfeit bill to police officers after it had been passed there sometime Monday.

Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department answered a call to McDonald’s, 1216 North Locust Avenue, just before 2:30 Monday afternoon. The manager reported that she had been preparing a bank deposit when she realized that one of the $5 bills was counterfeit. She told officers that she and her employees had no idea when or by whom the bill was passed.

The counterfeit bill was taken into evidence.
