Authorities investigate hit and run incident

Lawrenceburg Now

Law enforcement officers initiated an investigation last week after a woman reported that she had been the victim of a hit and run crash.

The fifty-two year old Loretto resident spoke with Lawrenceburg Police officers, indicating that she had been traveling in her 2002 Kia Borrego near the Highway 43/East Taylor Street intersection when she was rear-ended by the male driver of a red Ford Mustang. She told officers that once she made contact with the man he told her that he “was in a hurry to pick up children below the square,” then left the scene.

Officers report that they conducted a search of the vicinity, but were unable to locate the suspect. He was described as a white male between the ages of 25 and 35. The victim was able to provide officers with a license plate number to aid in the investigation.

At the present time the case remains under investigation through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
